Small and medium-sized businesses can apply for match-funding to introduce Irish or bilingual branding and marketing materials
Foras na Gaeilge has launched Business Support Scheme 2026 to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and eligible sole traders to incorporate Irish language or bilingual content into their business branding, marketing and communications.
Funding is available for projects such as signage, packaging, websites and printed marketing materials. Successful applicants can receive up to 50% of the total project cost through a match-funding arrangement.
Funding levels and eligible projects
Funding is provided on a 5050 match-funding basis, with applicants contributing the remaining project costs.
The scheme offers the following support
- new or replacement business signage, with match-funding of up to €1,500/£1,350
- Irish language or bilingual packaging, with match-funding of up to €1,500/£1,350
- websites that demonstrate practical and relevant use of Irish, with match-funding of up to €1,500/£1,350
- other Irish language or bilingual business materials, with match-funding of up to €1,000/£900 where considered appropriate and necessary
The maximum funding available under the scheme is €3,000/£2,700, depending on the project proposed.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements
- be a small or medium-sized enterprise or an eligible sole trader
- be a commercial business that is currently trading
- not already receive funding for the same initiative from another state body
- submit a draft version of the proposed Irish language or bilingual material with the application
- have a bank account in the name of the business
