Noah Kahan has offered a heartfelt apology to his fans following the last-minute cancellation of the singer’s show at New York’s Citi Field.

The 29-year-old Vermont singer-songwriter was set to perform at the baseball stadium on Saturday, but the performance was called off due to severe weather as storms swept through the area.

“I just want to apologize for the cancellation of our show last night,” Kahan told the crowd of thousands during his Sunday night concert at Citi Field, as seen in a video shared by E! News.

“I know you guys are all here, but I don’t expect any sympathy at all. I’m so f***ing sorry for the folks that sat all day out in the rain and traveled. I’ve been thinking about you guys, and I’m really sorry.”

Kahan continued: “I promise, if you’ve known me, I’ve been touring for about nine years. I’ve probably played about 500 shows and I’ve canceled six in my life, and they’ve only ever been when we cannot do anything else but cancel the show.

“And I promise you, I would play in a f***ing volcano, the hole of a volcano for y’all. And I, I’m so sorry.”

Kahan reiterated that he didn’t want sympathy, saying, “I have sympathy for the folks that missed out.”

“I promise you we did everything, everything we could. Weird s*** to try to reschedule it, and I’m sorry. I just feel horrible, and I know people will see this and I just want you to know I’m really sorry. You deserve better than that.”

Saturday’s show was initially delayed before being canceled. But many social media users were furious that the decision was not announced earlier in the day.

Citi Field pushed opening the stadium to 7:30 p.m. and canceled the opening acts, though parking lots opened at 4:30 p.m. Kahan’s performance was then canceled altogether shortly after.

Distraught fans voiced their upset on social media, with one writing, “noah kahan not rescheduling is lowkey so selfish this show is legit dangerous and traveling is even worse.”

Another said: “You were robbed, we were robbed. Citi field did poor, noah kahan could [have] rescheduled. They took a night you were waiting for away from you, they stole it. Its a slap in the face to all of us. Actually it is acceptable to be upset to be angry. If your not, I question you.”

Kahan is slated to continue on his The Great Divide tour across North America through the end of August before traveling internationally to Australia, New Zealand, the U.K. and Europe.
