Stefon Diggs’ offseason legal woes are still plodding along in Florida, where the NFL free agent is being sued by a former college teammate and personal assistant over defamation and conspiracy claims.
The 32-year-old receiver and key member of 2025 New England Patriots was initially sued in Miami-Dade County back in February by Nigel King, who played alongside Diggs at Maryland and later worked for the NFL star.
As seen in the complaint obtained by The Daily Mail, King claims Diggs falsely blamed him for the 2024 theft of the NFL star’s Ferrari, which allegedly led Diggs’ associates to attack King at a Miami strip club in December.
Diggs is not personally accused of attacking King, but his brothers – fellow NFL free agent Trevon and another, Darez – are listed as defendants in the complaint for allegedly aiding and abetting other defendants.
Diggs’ purported acquaintances Vincent Anthony Franklin and Charlie ‘Chap’ Jordan are accused of the assault in the complaint, while 15 individuals including Diggs and 10 John Does also face a count of civil conspiracy.
King cites a number of ‘serious and permanent’ injuries in the complaint, including a severely damaged knee, a fractured nasal bone, a scarred lip and extensive dental damage.

Crucially, the lawsuit claims Diggs ‘either authorized, encouraged, or later ratified the conduct’ of the men accused of assaulting King.
In March, Diggs’ attorney successfully pushed for an extension so that the client’s fellow co-defendants could be served before he would be required to file a response. Then in June, King’s attorney Sekou Gary motioned for an extension so that Darez and another defendant could be served.
And that is where the case currently stands, as Gary confirmed to The Daily Mail early Thursday morning.
The Daily Mail has sought comment from both Darez and Trevon Diggs, but attempts to contact Franklin and Jordan have been unsuccessful.
Like Diggs, King was a receiver at Maryland. Later, when Diggs reached NFL stardom in Minnesota and Buffalo, King arranged travel, vehicles, events, and other personal logistics for his long-time associate, according to the complaint.
As for the federal sexual assault case facing Diggs in Maryland, his accuser Christopher Griffith recently turned over more than 100 pages of messages between himself and the receiver.
Attorneys working on behalf of Diggs previously demanded the messages, which they claimed Griffith failed to provide, according to federal court documents obtained by The Daily Mail.
Last week, TMZ reported that Griffith submitted those messages, which he believes will back up his allegations of sexual assault. The content of the messages has not been revealed.

Diggs has denied the allegations and initially sued Griffith for defamation before being hit with a countersuit accusing the receiver of sexual assault, battery, conspiracy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and defamation.
The Daily Mail has sought comment from attorneys representing both Diggs and Griffith.
In May, Diggs was found not guilty of assaulting his personal chef after she accused him of attacking her during a financial dispute. He had maintained his innocence in that case.
Diggs has been a free agent since being waived by the Patriots in the aftermath of their Super Bowl defeat to the Seattle Seahawks. He has also split from rapper Cardi B, who is the mother of one of his children.
