Brisbane Lions stars have been filmed cheering on a young footy fan as he made a mockery of a security guard’s attempts to catch him when he ran onto the field at the Gabba on Sunday night.
The youngster was filmed running across the field after the Lions’ victory over Essendon before outpacing and eluding the guard who was trying to catch him.
Lions players were seen cheering the fan on in the background of the clip as he changed direction and made the official fall to the ground as spectators cheered him on.
Footage of the incident has been posted to social media, with footy supporters praising the youth for his fast feet.
‘Love the way Brisbane cheered for the kid,’ one wrote on Instagram.
‘I’ve seen enough; get him to Essendon,’ a Bombers fan added.

Lions star Lachie Neale left a cry-laughing emoji in the comments section when the video appeared on Instagram, and Brisbane’s official account wrote, ‘@brisbanelionsacademy worth a look.’
Before the incident, the Lions stormed to a 90-point victory against the Bombers.
The win leaves Brisbane fourth on the table, just two points behind Hawthorn, but with a superior percentage.
With the loss, Essendon have slumped to a new low and sit last on the table following their 16th defeat in 17 matches this season.
