This France side are a joke.
There is no other way of putting it, they are the favourites at this tournament, and by some margin.
After I covered their win over Sweden in the round of 32, I said I was so confident France would win the World Cup that I would bet my house on it. It’s a good job that I live in London and can only afford to rent… even then its a struggle.
No, but honestly, even if they didn’t play quite as well against Paraguay in the last round, they still managed to get over the line, showing the versatility and desire that are needed to be champions.
They have been here before, and are now seeking to make their third consecutive World Cup semi-final. It’s just crazy.
I wouldn’t bet against them going all the way again.
