Safe to say there will be a fair few sore heads among the New South Wales camp after their State of Origin series win.
The Blues marched into Suncorp – historically not their favourite hunting ground – and won the decider in commanding fashion.
An emphatic Bradman Best try just over 20 minutes from time, sealed the deal with Queensland looking like they might get back into the game.
And it looks like their celebrations at the team hotel were just as emphatic with video from a fan showing the players and coaches returning to a warm reception.
They were also recorded bringing in slabs upon slabs of beer as they continued their celebrations from the sheds.
Most of the players and staff walked in, with a beer in hand, ready to go, though some already looked a little worse for wear.
Laurie Daley walked through first carrying a crate of beers to kick off the celebrations
Players also had two slabs of Tooheys stubbies to choose from
For those that preferred cocktails, they could enjoy a can of 196
And the booze kept flowing as the team returned to the their hotel
Though there was certainly no slowing them down once they got back to the site of their hotel party.
A full breakdown of their inventory reveals, two Tooheys 30 blocks, two slabs of Tooheys stubbies, two slabs of Jim Beam and one case of 196.
Oh and amid all the booze, the players made sure they had the State of Origin shield in tow, for anyone who may have forgotten who won.
In the video on Instagram, Hudson Young even made a little time for the fans as he threw high-fives for anyone close enough.
The assortment of grog would also suggest that the players had stopped off at a supermarket before returning to the hotel.
The wide array of booze would imply that they picked up whatever they could, like any good amateur sports team would.
That is not a slight on the players, but in fact, a compliment, as it definitely adds to the effects of their celebration.
And clearly Laurie Daley was very much in on the celebrations after abstaining from alcohol for 15 weeks.
The NSW coach stunned his radio colleagues by arriving in the studio for a chat live on air after celebrating for hours after the Blues’ stunning series-clinching win on Wednesday night.
Daley has starred on Sky Sports Radio’s Big Sports Breakfast show for 10 years and he has been on hiatus while taking charge of the team for this year’s series.
Soon after fulltime, the former Canberra Raiders champion admitted he had been abstaining from alcohol for 15 weeks and was looking forward to a beer or two as he celebrated with the team.
It sounded like he did just that when he arrived at the show’s studio in Brisbane just before 6am on Thursday, surprising his co-hosts Gerard Middleton, and former Origin stars Kevin Walters and Josh Reynolds.
Daley had been out letting his hair down ‘until dawn’, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
And who could blame him after his side pulled off a historic win, that not many saw coming after their Origin II loss.
