Arthur Fery, who started the tournament ranked No 114 in the world, is only the second wildcard to reach the men’s semi-finals at Wimbledon and is the first since the 2001 champion Goran Ivanisevic.

The British wildcard will play the second seed Alexander Zverev, the French Open champion, in the semi-finals.

Zverev has just thrashed Taylor Fritz 6-4 6-4 6-2 to reach the semi-finals of WImbledon for the first time.

This is just SO good from Arthur Fery. He is growing as a player with every game and a backhand winner flashed down the line moves him to 15-30 against the Cobolli serve.

Fery gets the chance at another break point as Cobolli, head bowed and looking resigned to his fate, puts a backhand into the net.

An long, patient rally between both players finally goes the way of Cobolli, who then clips the back of the baseline and brings up break point.

An incredible way to save from Fery! He goes drop shot–lob, and then finishes the point with a cool overhead into the corner.

Cobolli goes again, forcing another break point with a dipping forehand as Fery approached the net.

But Fery saves this too! Another scrambling point, but he pulls through by combining touch and power.
