Besiktas have agreed a £17.1million deal with Arsenal to sign Leandro Trossard.

The deal will see Arsenal get £15.4m up front and £1.7m in add-ons for the 31-year-old.

Trossard, who is at the World Cup with Belgium, only has one year left on his Arsenal contract. He joined Arsenal from Brighton in 2023.

He had become Mikel Arteta’s first choice on the left side of attack during the season run-in, edging ahead of the likes of Gabriel Martinelli.

But no progress has been made in any contract talks, and the Gunners have opted to bite the bullet and sell him this summer.

The news may come as a blow to Arsenal fans, who will feel the Belgian still had plenty to offer them. They may go into the market to replace him, however.

Arsenal have agreed to sell Leandro Trossard to Besiktas in Turkey for £17.1milllion

It comes after Trossard split from his wife of seven years, Laura Hilven, 33, who deleted all wedding pictures from her online profiles.

The couple married in June 2019, and have two children together – one born in April 2017, and the other in January 2023.

Trossard confirmed during the season run-in that he and Laura had gone their separate ways.

Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli also have a year left on their contracts though the club do have a one-year option on Martinelli.
