A former security guard tricked staff at a bank into handing him bags of cash whilst dressed in his old G4S uniform.
CCTV footage shows Kwabena Kissi, 40, walking into a Santander branch in Brixton, south London, whilst wearing a helmet, mask and visor in July 2022.
Unwitting staff then proceeded to hand him bags of cash containing £117,200 before he left with the money in a briefcase. Bank workers only discovered they’d been swindled when a real security guard arrived to make the routine collection.
Kissi flew to Ghana the next day, where he lived with his ailing mother for four years. He was arrested in March 2025 after returning to the UK.
He pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation at Snaresbrook Crown Court in April and was sentenced to 40 months in prison.
