Build skills and tools to support sustainable growth in social enterprises through a structured programme

The Future Ready – Building Sustainable Organisations programme, delivered by Social Enterprise NI, equips participants with practical tools to improve organisational resilience and long-term financial sustainability. Delivered over nine days across six months, it focuses on practical approaches to common operational challenges and sustainable business development.

Participants can also gain additional qualifications to support professional development, accredited by Glasgow Caledonian University.

Who should attend

The programme is designed for a range of leadership profiles. It is suitable for

  • leaders and emerging leaders within the social enterprise and third sector
  • private business owners exploring a transition to a social enterprise model

What the programme offers

The programme content focuses on practical and strategic areas relevant to sustainability.

Key topics include

  • sustainability and its role in delivering social purpose
  • building from strengths using the business model canvas and growth mindset
  • commercial sustainability through value proposition and revenue development
  • design thinking, including empathy mapping and prototyping
  • forward planning, resilience and motivation

Delivery and fees

The Future Ready – Building Sustainable Organisations programme combines in-person sessions with online masterclasses to support flexible learning. Delivery includes six full days in Belfast and three half-day online sessions.

The programme operates a tiered pricing structure, with a £150 commitment fee for social enterprises and a £1,950 fee for private businesses.
