Oliver Glasner is set to join the ranks of the Premier League’s best-paid bosses if he joins Nottingham Forest.
The Austrian is expected to agree a three-year deal that would make him comfortably the highest-earning coach in Nottingham Forest’s history.
If Mikel Arteta signs a new deal with Arsenal, it would make him the league’s top-earning boss following the departure of Pep Guardiola.
Unai Emery, Andoni Iraola, Enzo Maresca and Roberto De Zerbi are all thought to earn in the £10-12m bracket annually and Daily Mail Sport understands Glasner would not be too far behind.
Having led Crystal Palace to three trophies during a hugely successful spell at Selhurst Park, Glasner would become Forest’s fifth manager in less than a year.
Nuno Espírito Santo was sacked after three games of last season, then Ange Postecoglou and Sean Dyche came and went.

Now Vitor Pereira, who picked up the pieces from Dyche’s stint and led Forest to Premier League survival, has also been moved on in another ruthless manoeuvre from Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Glasner delivered unprecedented success at Selhurst Park, leading the club to the FA Cup in 2025 and the Conference League in 2026. By the team Palace lifted their first European trophy, they knew it would be Glasner’s last season.
Glasner was a strong candidate to move to the City Ground in December 2023 when Steve Cooper departed, but on that occasion the club chose to hire Nuno.
If ever Glasner were to move to Forest, it is unlikely to be well-received by Palace fans. There is little love lost between the clubs after Forest replaced Palace in last season’s Europa League.
UEFA ruled that because American businessman John Textor had influence over both Palace and Lyon, they could not compete in the same European competition. Palace were demoted to the Conference League, to Forest’s benefit.
Palace went on to win that trophy but the wounds still run deep. This will not help to heal them.
