The Liberal Democrats have announced their candidate for the Manchester mayoral election.
Richard Kilpatrick, a former teacher who has been a councillor in the Didsbury area since 2018, has pledged to “tackle the cost of living crisis, improve public services and deliver desperately needed housing for the region”.
The by-election for a new metropolitan mayor was called after former metropolitan mayor Andy Burnham was elected as MP for Makerfield earlier this month.
