Support for emerging arts practitioners

The Nordic Culture Fund, in partnership with the arts funding agencies of Ireland, England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, has announced its second iteration of the Northern European Mobility Opportunity (NEMO).

The programme supports emerging UK artists and arts practitioners to develop new cross-border partnerships with counterparts in the Nordic region or the Republic of Ireland.

What the funding offers

Successful applicants can apply for grants of up to DKK 75,000 (around £8,700). Funding can be used for early-stage collaboration and partnership development, including

  • artist fees and partner costs
  • research and development activity
  • mentoring and skills exchange
  • small-scale pilot projects
  • public engagement activity (for example, talks or workshops)
  • travel and accommodation

Projects can be delivered in person, digitally, or through a hybrid approach. Activities must be completed within one year.

Who can apply

You may be eligible if you

  • are an early-career artist or arts practitioner
  • are based in Northern Ireland, elsewhere in the UK, Ireland, or the Nordic countries
  • have found a partner in the other region (eg, a Nordic partner if you are UK-based)
  • can show examples of your work (for example, a CV)
  • have agreed your project with your partner before applying

Organisations, students in full-time education, and recipients of NEMO funding in 2025 cannot apply.

NEMO will open for applications on 17 August and close on 18 September 2026.

For full guidance and to apply, visit the Nordic Culture Fund website.

NEMO information event

Arts InfoPoint UK is hosting a free online coffee morning on 25 June 2026 at 930am (GMT+1) for artists interested in applying to the NEMO fund.

Register now to join the session and find out more about NEMO.
