John Mayer and Kat Stickler quietly called it quits “a few months ago” after several months of dating, a new report claims.
An insider revealed Stickler, 31, and Mayer, 48, “are no longer seeing each other and split a few months ago” as things “just fizzled out” between the pair.
“It wasn’t a dramatic split,” the source told Us Weekly in a report published Tuesday. “They realized they have very different lifestyles but it was a lot of fun while it lasted and are still friends.”
The insider also noted that the former couple were “never going to be a serious thing” while Stickler — who is a mom — was reluctant to bring a man she was dating around her daughter.
“Kat was always hesitant bringing her daughter around someone she was dating and both of their busy schedules made it hard to navigate,” the source says.
Reps for Mayer and Stickler did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The move is quite the turnaround from the most recent update on the stars six months ago. In December, it was reported that things were “getting serious” between Mayer and Stickler.
“John is at a point in his life where he is ready to settle down and is looking to seriously date,” a source told Us Weekly at the time.
The insider told the outlet that the pair had “spent Thanksgiving weekend together” and Stickler had even “been introduced to some of John’s friends.”
Stickler and Mayer were first romantically linked in October after they were seen out together on a few cozy outings in New York City.
They were first spotted at a private members-only club, which was described by an eyewitness as what looked like “a first date, maybe a second date,” per DeuxMoi.
The following night, the musician and influencer followed it up with a dinner date at Flyfish Club, another members-only establishment.
At the time, sources told Us Weekly that the “Gravity” singer had been “actively pursuing her” and Stickler took an interest as she “thought it would be fun to date again.”
While Stickler told her followers she was single shortly after the string of outings, the pair reignited romance speculation last November with another dinner date at NYC hotspot Torrisi.
