Police are reportedly looking into assault allegations that have been made against New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith.

A video emerged on social media on Sunday appearing to show a shirtless Smith arguing with a woman outside a stunning mansion in Davie, Florida. In the footage, he can be heard saying ‘she just called the police’.

The woman, seemingly named Kristen, made a series of bombshell allegations against Smith when uploading the video to a private Instagram account.

Her post read: ‘Today is the DAY! GENO SMITH beat my a** cause he HATES taking care of his special needs kid and can’t be left alone with him because he’d rather watch s** online and play Call of Duty.’

TMZ has reported that police are now reviewing the case. The Daily Mail has contacted Smith’s representatives and the Jets for comment.

In the video, the woman responds to Smith telling somebody on the phone that she had called the police by replying: ‘Geno just beat my a**, that’s why. You ran outside and attacked me, b****.’

During the argument, the woman then sprints down the driveway and screams for ‘help’. Smith tells her to ‘leave my neighborhood’. With Smith stood on the driveway, she claims he ‘broke my f***ing computer’.

Smith then gets into the driver’s seat of a car, which she says is hers, and allegedly takes purses and money out before a scuffle seems to take place.

The video then ends with the woman filming Smith talking to three police officers outside his house. The caption reads: ‘Charges, PRESSED!’

After the video had circulated on social media, the mother of Smith’s son, Seven, took to Instagram to post a defense of the NFL star.

She posted a picture of Smith holding Seven, who was born in 2019, and wrote: ‘Geno is and always has been more than capable of taking care of his son. Let’s kill that narrative.

‘Don’t get on the internet bringing my son into your web of dysfunction.

She then posted another picture of Smith holding his son on the sideline of an NFL game and wrote: ‘Happy Father’s Day G’.

Smith, 35, is back with the Jets for a second spell after they first took him in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

The two-time Pro Bowler has also played for the New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers, Seattle Seahawks and Las Vegas Raiders during his career.

Smith, who won the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year award in 2022, was traded to the Jets in March along with a seventh-round pick. In return, the Raiders received a sixth-round pick in next year’s draft.
