The American soccer party is officially in full swing after the USMNT stars were serenaded by their fans following their 2-0 victory over Australia on Friday.

Moments after the full-time whistle went, thousands of fans inside Seattle Stadium began belting out a rendition of John Denver’s ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads.’

A clip of the passionate vocal tribute exploded across social media within minutes, racking up well over a million views as fans praised the jubilant atmosphere.

Footage showed the USMNT players taking it all in and applauding the crowd as they made their way off the field, after putting themselves top of Group D.

Similarly, during his post-match interview, USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino was interrupted by impassioned fans who sang his name in unison.

As the jubilant scenes went viral, fans couldn’t help but praise them.

‘The most unified we’ve been for a minute. Thank you beautiful game,’ one fan wrote.

‘Feels like the same spirit surrounding our men’s USA hockey team had at the Olympics this year,’ another user on X said.

‘Gosh if that don’t give you goosebumps…’, another wrote in response to the videos.

Another said: ‘There’s something special brewing in the US right now. I’m not saying they can win the whole thing, but they can definitely make some noise and give this country something they’ve never seen before and something to be proud of.’

‘Not much gets me patriotic, but this is a special moment,’ one fan added.

After beating Australia, the focus now shifts to the next challenge as the squad prepares to carry this incredible home-field advantage deeper into the tournament.

Depending on how results go later on Friday, they could soon know their path to the World Cup final, after opening the tournament with back-to-back wins.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side went ahead with another early strike, benefitting from Cameron Burgess’ calamitous own goal inside 11 minutes.

Defender Alex Freeman doubled the lead just before the break following the help of an intervention from VAR.

The 21-year-old had headed home from close range but his goal was initially chalked off for offside.

However, following review it was determined that Freeman – whose father, Antonio Freeman, won Super Bowl XXXI with the Green Bay Packers – was not offside.

In bizarre scenes towards the end of the game, play was briefly halted after German official Felix Zwayer, 45, suffered cramp during the six minutes of added time.
