One of the big topics of conversation in this press conference will be about Tino Livramento having to fly home due to injury.
The Newcastle man has had to leave the England camp in Kansas City due to picking up a calf problem. Such cruel luck, just one day before the first game, too.
However, while losing Livramento is a real blow, England have plenty of full-backs at their disposal that they could call up. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Lewis Hall, Tyrick Mitchell… you get the point.
So, you’d expect Thomas Tuchel to call one of them up, right?
Nope. He didn’t. In classic Tuchel style, he has thrown a curve ball and called up centre-back Trevoh Chalobah, whom he used to coach while at Chelsea.
It’s fair to say, the selection has caused quite the debate.
