Casemiro’s proposed move to Inter Miami is facing a final hurdle as LA Galaxy are asking £750,000 (1 million US dollars) for their discovery rights.
The former Manchester United midfielder has an agreement in place to link up with Lionel Messi’s club once his participation in the World Cup with Brazil is over.
However, as Daily Mail Sport previously reported, LA Galaxy hold Casemiro’s discovery rights as they were first to post their interest with the MLS.
Casemiro and his representatives also held talks with Galaxy earlier this season and they made offers of a contract.
But following a visit to Miami with his family, the 34-year-old set his mind on joining David Beckham’s franchise.
Galaxy hold the priority right to negotiate with Casemiro, a process called ‘discovery rights.’ Such rules are meant to avoid these scenarios in which multiple MLS clubs negotiate against each other.

Usually, the disputes are settled by one team compensating the other in a trade for the discovery rights.
A previous example saw Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus sign for the Galaxy, but Charlotte FC held his rights. They asked for $800,000 but eventually settled for $400,000 in General Allocation Money for those rights.
Many of the franchises believe it is an outdated system that prompts consternation from the European market and needs redressing.
It is expected to be raised when the MLS convenes for their next conference.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are expected to make their move for West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes after making the Portuguese their next priority.
Their other midfield summer target Ederson is poised to join in July after they agreed a £38m deal with Atalanta.
