A delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Minister of Education Mr Atayev, participated in the Education World Forum (EWF) held in London from 17 to 20 May 2026. The Forum brought together ministers, senior officials, policymakers, and education leaders from around the world, reaffirming its status as the leading global platform for education dialogue and co-operation.

The participation of the Turkmen delegation highlighted the country’s growing engagement with international education networks and its commitment to advancing educational development in line with global best practice.

UK Secretary of State for Education Bridget Phillipson and Deputy Minister of Education Azat Atayev.

The Forum officially opened with remarks by the UK Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women and Equalities, Bridget Phillipson. She underscored the importance of investing in future generations, noting that we invest in the education of the society we want to see in the future. Delegates also heard a powerful and inspiring address by Malala Yousafzai, co-founder of the Malala Fund, who emphasised the critical importance of ensuring access to education for girls worldwide.
