Manchester City have sold behind-the-scenes access of Pep Guardiola’s final two seasons as manager to Amazon for more than £10million.

A four-part documentary will be released over the summer, although a title for the series has yet to be rubberstamped.

The deal with Prime Video is understood to eclipse the seven-figure sum that Netflix paid for the series documenting the 2023 Treble campaign.

City’s production of their historic fourth consecutive Premier League title was also aired on Sky Sports a year later.

Guardiola afforded trusted members of City’s broadcast arm constant access inside the dressing room throughout his tenure as boss.

BAFTA award-winning filmmaker Kevin Macdonald, who directed Whitney about the life of legendary late singer Whitney Houston, has overseen the series alongside John De Caux of City Studios.

City are in the habit of putting together annual packages of seasons for supporters and had initially planned to chart the difficult 2024-25 campaign, during which Guardiola oversaw a record number of defeats and the squad broke up.

But that morphed into looking at two seasons back-to-back, which then became the last dance for Guardiola, who left the club after 10 years last month.

Prime are promising to show a ‘visibly shaken’ Guardiola as he attempted to drag City out of a funk across a number of months before a shake-up in the playing staff.

The docuseries will be released as Enzo Maresca takes his first steps in succeeding the Catalan, with City heading to Asia on their pre-season tour.

City have previously been on Prime, with the 2017-18 record-breaking Centurions season the subject of a documentary – the first of its kind in English football.

‘We’re incredibly proud to be announcing this documentary series that offers a new insight to Manchester City and surpasses the scale of other documentaries we’ve done before,’ said Gavin Johnson, Media Director at City Football Group.

‘It wouldn’t be achievable without the hard work, trust and collaboration that our City Studios’ embedded crew have built over the last few years with the players, manager, football staff and club executives.

‘It has been fantastic to work with Kevin Macdonald and Plan B/KM Films on this series and it is great endorsement for the level of our productions that we are now able to gain interest and recognition from those at the very top of the industry.’
