Chris Kamara said he is no longer the “same person” following his life-changing diagnosis.

In 2022, the former footballer and television presenter was diagnosed with speech apraxia and has since stepped back from broadcasting. The rare neurological disorder significantly slows down speech and thought processes.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday (27 May), the 68-year-old discussed the new remix of his World Cup single “Sing 4 England”.

He then opened up on life following his diagnosis. “I’m not the same person now as I was, but I accept the new me now, and everybody else seems to accept it, so you get on with life.”
