Donald Trump has used Memorial Day to lash out at “Dumocrats” and his Republican foes in a series of scathing posts that barely mention fallen troops.
The president launched the attacks in a series of posts early on a holiday meant to commemorate U.S. military personnel who have died while serving in the Armed Forces.
“Happy Memorial Day to all, including the Dumocrats, who disrespect our Military and all of the tremendous success that it has had over the last year,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “God Bless those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. I love you all!”
Trump followed that with a post claiming the “Dumocrats” have “BAD POLICY AND BAD CANDIDATES. Other than that, they are doing quite well!”
The president reposted both of these late night posts several hours later, as many Americans were waking up to Memorial Day. His only reference to troops from the multiple posts was his mention of “ultimate sacrifice”.

Instead, the president went on to rail against critics of the deal his administration is currently negotiating with Iran to end the war he started three months ago.
“I laugh at all of the Dumocrats, RINOS, and Fools who know nothing about the potential deal I am making with Iran, things that haven’t even been negotiated yet, weak and ineffective people like failed Senator Thom Tillis (Soon out of office!), Bill Cassidy, who just suffered a massive Primary loss, really bad Congressman Thomas Massie, a major sleazebag who lost in a landslide to a great American Patriot (Endorsed by “TRUMP”) after showing tremendous disloyalty to his Party (and Country!), and almost all Dumocrats, people that have totally lost their way, constantly supporting bad policy and even worse candidates, but are constantly critical of each and every fantastic win I have,” the president posted.
“These people should go home and rest, they do nothing but create division and loss. In other words, they are losers! The deal with Iran will either be a great and meaningful one, or there will be no deal.
“It will be the exact opposite of the JCPOA disaster negotiated by the failed Obama Administration, which was a direct and open path to a Nuclear Weapon for Iran. No, I don’t do deals like that! President DJT.”
In a later post, the president claimed that “negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran are proceeding nicely!” without giving specifics.
Trump’s swipe at Bill Cassidy targeted a Republican Senator who voted to convict the current president after the January 6 insurrection. Cassidy was defeated in a primary earlier this month, with Trump branding the loss as “massive.”
Rep. Thomas Massie, who lost a primary in May, was one of the most prominent Republicans to call for the release of the Epstein files late last year.
Trump has faced widespread criticism of his mooted deal with Iran, even from within his own party.
Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham and Mike Pompeo were among the critics after details of the proposal emerged over the weekend, warning it could be a “disaster” that ultimately emboldens Tehran.
While supporting the war on Iran, Cruz warned against any compromise with the Tehran regime.
“If the result of all that is to be an Iranian regime — still run by Islamists who chant ‘death to America’ — now receiving billions of dollars, being able to enrich uranium & develop nuclear weapons, and having effective control over the Strait of Hormuz, then that outcome would be a disastrous mistake,” he posted on X.
