Patrick Mahomes took a day off from his brutal race against time to be healthy for the new NFL season by enjoying a family day out.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and wife Brittany took their three children to watch their NWSL team play on Sunday.
The couple are huge soccer fans, with Brittany playing in college, and are co-owners of the Kansas City Current.
The Texas-born high school sweethearts were pictured with daughters Sterling Skye and Golden Raye, as well as son Patrick ‘Bronze’ at CPKC Stadium on the banks of the Missouri River.
And they were treated to a thrilling game that saw their beloved Current come from behind to beat the Portland Thorns 3-1, thanks to goals from Lo’eau LaBonta, Temwa Chawinga and Haley Hopkins.
The family appeared to be having a great time as they fooled around with each other in the luxury suite that they have made their own.

Mahomes tore the ACL and LCL in his left knee on December 14 and is facing a race against time to be healthy for next season.
After suffering the injury in the final minutes of a loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, he quickly had surgery in Dallas and the rehabilitation began almost immediately back in Kansas City, where he has been working all offseason.
The Chiefs will begin the third phase of the offseason program on Monday – organized team activites – and it remains to be seen how much Mahomes can contribute.
That is where the offense can face the defense but there is still no live contact. The Chiefs have scheduled six of those workouts from May 26-28 and June 1-3 ahead of their mandatory minicamp on June 9-11.
The NFL had to insist that their decision to put the Chiefs in primetime windows the first two weeks of the season wasn’t meant to be a hint on how fast Mahomes is recovering.
The Chiefs host the Denver Broncos on ‘Monday Night Football’ to open the season on September 14 and then play Indianapolis at home on Sunday night in Week 2.
‘We didn’t know anything more than anyone else,’ NFL executive Hans Schroeder said earlier this month.
Reid added that the NFL didn’t talk to him about Mahomes’ status, but is encouraged by what he has seen so far early in the offseason program.

‘He’s doing great right now and that´s kind of how you gotta go about this,’ Reid said.
‘People go “well, he’s ahead of schedule.” Who made the schedule? Everybody’s different, let’s just take it day by day.
‘Nobody is spending more time than he is rehabbing, he spends seven hours here going through it. He hasn’t missed a day and he wants more, all the things that are Patrick Mahomes.
‘Let’s see where we are at as we go forward as we get a little bit closer to the game.’
