Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert, who appears to be on thin ice with President Donald Trump, chose to praise the president Tuesday evening, even after her friend and colleague, Rep. Thomas Massie, lost his primary election to a Trump-endorsed candidate.

“Tonight I celebrated my son’s graduation!” Boebert wrote in an X post. “My friend & Co-Chair gave his all to Kentucky! Trump is my President! Jesus is Lord! I look forward to a lifetime filled with joy, purpose, and gratitude. May God continue to bless America and the freedom that makes this nation the greatest.”

Boebert, a member of the far-right faction in the House of Representatives, risked her relationship with the president by endorsing and campaigning for Massie – a Kentucky Republican who has garnered Trump’s ire for breaking with him on several issues.

Last week, Trump threatened to endorse virtually any candidate who challenges Boebert’s seat in Colorado, calling Boebert a “very difficult” and “highly unreasonable” person.

Yet the Colorado congresswoman’s post indicated she was unfazed and still willing to support Trump, despite risking his anger by choosing to aid Massie.

Trump, who demands complete loyalty from his allies, expressed fury at Boebert for campaigning for Massie.

“Is anyone interested in running against Weak Minded Lauren Boebert in Colorado’s Fourth Congressional District?” Trump wrote on Truth Social last week.

But, Boebert said she “knew the risks” when she chose to endorse Massie.

“Yes, I saw the President’s post,” Boebert wrote on X after Trump’s Truth Social rant. “No, I’m not mad or offended. I knew the risks when I agreed to stand by my friend Thomas Massie. I was, and will be, America First, America Always, and MAGA. Onward”

It’s too late for another candidate to run against Boebert in the Colorado primary, which will take place in June. Boebert is running unopposed.

The Independent has asked Boebert’s office for comment.

Boebert is considered one of the most conservative members in the House, voting with Trump 100 percent of the time, according to an American for Progress analysis completed in September 2025.

But more recently, she’s shown some defiance toward the president, occasionally making a passive remark before praising the president again.

Last week, Boebert praised Trump for working with her office to free Tina Peters, one of Trump’s staunchest allies, who was serving time in Colorado prison for her role in trying to overturn the 2020 election results.

Boebert also insinuated the president had pressured her to get Peters released by blocking federal funding to a Colorado clean drinking water project.

“We were told that Tina was the reason we couldn’t get water,” Boebert told 9News Denver, according to The Guardian.

Boebert had also insinuated in December that the president vetoed her clean drinking water legislation in retaliation for her joining Democrats in supporting the release of the Epstein Files.

The Colorado congresswoman also used Trump’s words against him recently, to make it seem as though she wasn’t breaking from the president on legislation related to the Foreign Intelligence Security Act. Boebert posted a 2020 Truth Social post from Trump, claiming she agreed with him – despite the president changing his position on it.
