Officials in Toronto have unveiled six soccer-themed condoms as the city prepares to welcome fans for the World Cup.

Toronto is one of 16 host cities across the US, Mexico and Canada, with BMO Field holding six games featuring the likes of Canada, Germany, Croatia and Iraq.

With the city expecting hundreds of thousands of visitors from across the globe, Toronto Public Health is giving out free ‘safer sex supplies’ including ‘limited-edition’ condoms.

‘Whether you’re attending a soccer match, a watch party, hitting a summer festival or partying, remember that condoms protect the health of you and your partner(s),’ officials said.

Their ‘game day line-up’ features six designs with names such as ‘What a finish!’ and ‘Block those shots! and ‘Ohhh, Canada’ – a play on the country’s national anthem.

The condoms are part of a campaign to help ‘promote safer sex, reduce stigma and connect people with sexual health services.’

They will be given out – for free – at clinics and sites around the city ‘while supplies last.’

It is not the first time that Toronto has designed creative contraception. Officials previously released Toronto-themed condom wrappers that messages such as ‘ride responsibly’ and ‘cover your lumber, Jack.’

Canada will face Bosnia and Herzegovina in the first game in Toronto this summer. That will be followed by Ghana vs. Panama, Germany vs. Ivory Coast, Croatia vs. Panama and Senegal vs. Iraq.

BMO Field will also host a round-of-32 game on July 2.
