Todays best Hotel Chocolat discount codes and offers

From its newly updated hot chocolate maker, the velvetiser, to its award-winning champagne truffles, Hotel Chocolat is one of our most beloved confectionery brands. Though it’s far from a budget option, we’re here to help you save as you indulge. Our savvy deal hunters have been busy sourcing the best Hotel Chocolat promo codes and discounts, so you can shop your favourite chocolates for less.

Save 10 per cent with a Hotel Chocolat discount code

Whether you’re planning on treating yourself or a loved one, you can get 10 per cent off everything online, using the discount code above.

Get 15 per cent off with a free VIP membership

Signing up for Hotel Chocolat’s VIP.Me reward scheme is a no-brainer – it’s completely free, and an easy way to make savings on your first shop. You’ll get exclusive benefits and rewards, such as:

  • 15 per cent off your first shop
  • 20 per cent off cafe drinks and ices in store
  • A ‘surprise gift’ on your birthday (usually a £5 voucher)

Right now, new and existing members can save an exclusive £30 on the all-new Velvetiser.

If you’re gift-buying for a birthday or special occasion, now would be the perfect time to use the 15 per cent discount on your first VIP.Me shop. The ‘everything sleekster’ chocolate gift box (£29.95, Hotelchocolat.com) includes 27 of the brand’s most iconic chocolates with flavours from all ranges, making it ideal for gifting.

Hotel Chocolat subscriptions

Hotel Chocolat also offers subscription services, but are these worth it? By signing up for a six- or 12-month drinking chocolate subscription, you can get the velvetiser for £109.95, saving you £40. You’ll then have to choose between receiving either:

  • Two boxes of 10 hot chocolate sachets a month for six months (from £29.90 a month)
  • A single box of 10 hot chocolate sachets a month for 12 months (from £14.95 a month)

The cost of the hot chocolate sachets isn’t discounted under this deal, and once you sign up, you can’t change the amount of hot chocolate you get or the length of your subscription.

My verdict? If you know for a fact that you’re going to use your velvetiser a lot during the period you’re signing up for, it may be worth taking out the subscription to get the discount on the gadget. But if you’re unsure, you may be better off getting the velvetiser full-price and ordering hot chocolate sachets as and when you need them.

To help you decide whether to invest in the viral Hotel Chocolat velvetiser, one of our expert reviewers put the newest model to the test. Designed to whip up both cold chocolate drinks and indulgent hot chocolate, it certainly didn’t disappoint.

Awarding it a full five stars, IndyBest reviewer Mollie Davies said: “Without fail, each time I’ve used the all-new velvetiser, it’s delivered perfect drinking chocolate that proves there’s no need to faff around with microwaves or stoves.”

When it comes to the other chocolate subscriptions, I wouldn’t recommend either of them if you’re looking to gain savings. The sleekster subscription is £29.95, the same price as a box of sleekster chocolates usually is, so you don’t save at all by signing up. The curated chocolate subscription may offer a fun surprise each month, but there’s no guarantee that the value will match or exceed the £29.95 fee.

Free delivery on your order

Hotel Chocolat offers free delivery on orders of more than £60, and free click and collect on orders of more than £20. For orders costing less than this, shipping fees start from £3.95, with next-day delivery from £4.95.

Hotel Chocolat’s happiness guarantee

If you’re dissatisfied with your order, or an important delivery date is missed, Hotel Chocolat promises to put it right by refunding you, replacing what’s missing or issuing you with a gift card.

Information on how to make a complaint is available on the brand’s contact page. We recommend quoting the “happiness guarantee” and making a suggestion as to how Hotel Chocolat can fix things.
