AFL legend turned TV commentator David King has left his Fox Sports colleagues in stitches by dropping the phrase ‘I love Cumming’ on live TV on Saturday night.

The North Melbourne premiership-winner has revealed his fellow stars Kath Loughnan and Richmond great Jack Riewoldt ‘went crazy’ over his slip of the tongue when Fox’s coverage went to a break.

King was going through Richmond’s list when Herald Sun footy expert Jay Clark asked him, ‘Who do you love?’

‘Cumming, I love Cumming. I think he’s going to be a sensation,’ King replied.

Vision of the moment showed Riewoldt battling to hold in his laughter, with King later saying he and Loughnan lost it once the cameras were off.

‘It doesn’t sound great,’ King confessed on SEN radio on Monday.

‘I’ve only heard it 4000 times. Anyone out there who doesn’t think I’ve seen it, I’ve seen it, trust me.

‘My God, Kath and Jack hit the deck in a heartbeat. That little red light went off [indicating they were no longer on air] and they went crazy.

‘I thought, “What’s happened here? What have I said?”‘

King added that he’d received an apology from Dogs and Tigers legend turned Channel Nine star Nathan Brown for not including the hilarious moment on the Sunday Footy Show’s Media-Ocre segment, which makes light-hearted critiques of how footy is covered.

Kane Cornes, who joined King on SEN on Monday, praised Riewoldt for keeping a mostly straight face.

‘I did see Jack’s face, very funny, maybe his best moment in media so far to hold it in and not laugh,’ Cornes said.

The former Port Adelaide star wasn’t as impressed with Brown and the Media-Ocre segment, however.

Cornes pointed out that Channel Seven owns Triple M, which Brown works for, yet the Nine star repeatedly slams Seven in the segment.

‘Considering he works for Channel Seven now, there’s eyeballs all over this,’ Cornes said.

‘He’s either incredibly brave or incredibly stupid.’

Cumming was one of Richmond’s standouts as they beat West Coast by 11 at Optus Stadium.

He had 23 disposals as the Tigers snapped a 12-match losing streak despite having 17 stars on their injury list.
