Netflix is about to be rocked by a removal of one of its best-loved sitcoms.

In May 2026, a large selection of titles will be removed from the streaming service, but the one subscribers might be most disappointed about is Schitt’s Creek.

Schitt’s Creek was added to Netflix in 2016 and, after a modest start, found a solid fanbase during the pandemic. It made a star of Dan Levy, who co-created the show alongside his father Eugene, and starred the pair alongside Catherine O’Hara and Annie Murphy.

It followed a rich family of eccentrics who, after getting busted for tax evasion, lose everything they own, so relocate to a small town slap-bang in the middle of nowhere they once bought as a joke. The fish-out-of-water series As the heartwarming show progresses, the family find themselves embraced by a town they once sneered at, and are won over by its way of life.
