AC Milan star Rafael Leao is attracting interest from Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Real Madrid as they explore a potential summer move for the Portugal international.

Leao is one of the best wingers in Europe and is expected to play a leading role for Portugal at this summer’s World Cup in USA.

He has scored 10 goals in another impressive season in Serie A but has been left frustrated as Milan look like missing out on the league title to fierce rivals Inter.

Milan are understood to be open to offers for a number of their top players as they look to balance the books and work within financial guidelines. And Leao could depart for around £60million.

That’s viewed as excellent value by many elite clubs for a 26-year-old of Leao’s calibre in the current market.

Despite some recent criticism, Daily Mail Sport understands Leao has not fallen out with coach Max Allegri nor has he been offered to Barcelona – who are looking at more economical options.

Clubs across the Europe see £60million as good value for the 26-year-old winger

However, he will have two years left on contract this summer – a natural juncture to discuss his future – and Milan recognise they may have to sell to help strengthen their squad elsewhere.

The Premier League trio have been making enquiries, as have Madrid, and they would prefer to get any deal in place prior to the World Cup rather than risk his price escalating should he have a strong tournament.

United interim coach Michael Carrick has confirmed the club want to sign a top wide player though their budget will be dictated by whether they qualify for the Champions League.

Liverpool are also looking at options to replace Mo Salah. They have been looking at their usual young profile of players but the likes of RB Leipzig want around £80m for Yan Diomande.

City could yet see Pep Guardiola depart with Enzo Maresca a potential replacement. Regardless, Portuguese sporting director Hugo Viana is looking how to tweak a squad that will lose Bernardo Silva and potentially Rodri among others.

Madrid obviously have Vinicius Jr on the wing but are looking to freshen up a team that has failed to deliver under Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa this campaign and will bolster their attacking options.

Leao can play in his customary wing role or as a striker utilising his pace and dribbling ability. He has scored 80 goals for Milan since joining from Lille for £30m in 2019.

Milan stand to still make a substantial profit but Premier League sides now sense he could be bought for what would be regarded as good value.
