Sabrina Carpenter brought out Madonna as her surprise guest during the second weekend of Coachella festival.
On Friday (17 April), the pop singer, 26, was singing her track “Juno” when she reached a popular moment where she asks, “Have you ever tried this one?” and then strikes a pose.
In this instance, the song cut to Madonna’s iconic hit “Vogue”, at which point Madonna joined Carpenter on stage.
The duo then performed a new song, “I Feel So Free”, from Madonna’s upcoming album, Confessions II, a sequel to her 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor.
Madonna officially released the track today (Saturday), after sending it out early to select DJs and clubs.
“Sabrina, thank you so much for inviting me on your show,” the queen of pop told the younger star.
“No thanks needed, Madonna, you can have whatever you want,” Carpenter responded.

Madonna, 67, noted that it was a “full circle” moment being back on the Coachella stage, having performed at the festival two decades ago.
“I have a few things I wanna get off my chest,” she told the audience. “Twenty years ago today, I performed at Coachella. I was in the dance tent, and it was the first time I performed Confessions on the Dance Floor Part One in America.
“And that was such a thrill for me, so you can imagine what a thrill it is for me to be back 20 years later in the same boots, the same corset, the jacket I had on earlier, the same Gucci jacket. So, it’s like a full-circle moment, very meaningful for me.”

Madonna also offered an astrology reading, pointing out that the new moon is in Taurus and therefore “we need to work on our communication skills” and “avoid confrontations”.
“So in all circumstances for the rest of the month, let’s try to get along,” she urged. “And to that point, the great thing about music is that it brings people together, am I right? It’s the one place that people have to put their differences aside, put their s*** down, and just everybody have a good time together.”
She couldn’t help cracking a joke about Carpenter’s height, remarking: “The other thrilling thing I need to point out to everybody right now is this is probably the first time I’ve ever performed with someone who’s shorter than me. So thank you for giving me that experience.”
“Amen!” Carpenter responded.
She and Carpenter performed “Get Together”, another track from the first Confessions album, before a duet of “Like a Prayer”.
Madonna confirmed this week that Confessions II will be released in July, marking her first album since 2019’s Madame X.
Coachella concludes this weekend, with further headline performances to take place from Justin Bieber and Karol G.
