A stretch of the B4380 at Atcham is to be resurfaced from Monday 27 April to Friday 1 May [2026].
Work will be carried out from 9.30am to 4pm each day when the road will be closed outside the main entrance to Attingham Park. It includes the addition of some high friction surfacing.
This resurfacing work is in addition to surface dressing work on two sections of the B5061 between 14 April and 5 June [2026].
Section 1 of the surface dressing work runs from the B4380 junction to the boundary along the B5061 and is being carried out in three stages:
- 14 April – Road closure for stud removal
- 14 to 16 May – Road closure for surface dressing
- 26 to 27 May – Road closure for white lining
Section 2 of the surface dressing work runs from Emstrey Bank to the B5061 and is being carried out in three stages:
- 21 April – Road closure for stud removal
- 20 to 21 May – Road closure for surface dressing
- 5 June – Road closure for white lining
In both cases the road will be closed from 9.30am to 4pm on weekdays, and from 6am to 6pm on Saturday 16 May, for the section one work. No work will take place on 17 May due to the Bike For Life event.
During the closures access to the work areas will be maintained for the following:
-
- Residents living within the closure, when safe to do so.
- Businesses located within the closure, when safe to do so.
- Pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and equestrians
- Emergency vehicles.
For all other traffic a signed diversion will be place. Depending on their vehicle type, road users may be able to choose an alternative diversion route.
Attingham Park and other local businesses
When the road is closed, Attingham Park will remain open with access via Emstrey Island. Please follow the diversions in place and allow a little extra time for your journey. Businesses in the area – including Home Farm and the the Mytton and Mermaid – will remain open as normal during the works.
