The Independent‘s wine columnist, Rosamund Hall, recommended this rosé from Sainsbury’s remarking: “While the nose may be a little restrained, there’s an abundance of flavour and excitement on the palate in this dry, delicate rosé.”

It’s great value at £10.50 – even better, it qualifies in Sainsbury’s offer of 25 per cent off three or more bottles.

Hailed as an alternative to champagne, crémant is having a moment. This one is a crémant de Loire made by Mlle Ladubay, a winery founded in 1851, and promises a rich and zesty apple freshness from a blend of chenin and chardonnay.

If a dry and crisp white is the way to your heart, look no further than Sainsbury’s pinot grigio white wine. Characterised by aromas of red apple, ripe lemons with a hint of orange blossom, the wine is made at the Cavit winery in Trentino, based in the scenic mountain area in the north east of Italy. It pairs well with salads and grilled fish dishes.

The maker combines wines from around Côtes du Rhône to make this blend that is part of Sainsbury’s offer. It’s a rounded, warming red wine with notes of ripe fruit and spices, and it’ll make a great pairing with roasted or barbecued meat.
