JD Vance was heckled as he said that Pope Leo should be “careful” when speaking on matters of theology.

It came as a feud escalated between Donald Trump and the pontiff over the war in Iran.

The US president has refused to apologize to the pontiff after criticizing his opposition to the conflict.

Speaking at an event hosted by Turning Point USA in Georgia on Tuesday (14 April), the vice president said: “I think it’s very, very important for the Pope to be careful when he talks about matters of theology,” before a person in the crowd shouted.

“Hey random dude screaming, I told you I’d respond to your point,” Vance responded.
