From the pages to the big screen, some of the biggest and best celebrities are set to star in upcoming book adaptations.

As bookworms everywhere eagerly await news of their favorite reads, studios are gearing up to bring some of the buzziest novels to life in the next few years.

Here’s all the latest casting news for the most anticipated upcoming movie and TV adaptations.

Patrick Schwarzenegger to star in “Beach Read.”

Patrick Schwarzenegger is set to star opposite Phoebe Dynevor in the highly anticipated adaptation of Emily Henry’s “Beach Read.”

He is set to play Gus Everett, a literary fiction writer who rents a beach house next to his college nemesis January Andrews.

Deadline, who first reported the news, said Schwarzenegger’s audition and chemistry read with Dynevor was undeniable, though he was initially a “dark horse candidate” and “unexpected choice” for the role.

Meryl Streep to star in “The Corrections” Getty

Meryl Streep is set to play matriarch Enid Lambert in Netflix’s upcoming series “The Corrections.”

The book, which is based off the Jonathan Franzen’s 2001 novel, follows a dysfunctional Midwestern family as they spend one final Christmas together.

Netflix announced in April that “American Fiction” writer Cord Jefferson is set to direct the show, with Franzen writing.

Gwyneth Paltrow is set to star in the upcoming adaptation of Belle Burden’s best-selling memoir, “Strangers.”

The actress will also serve as executive producer on the Netflix film.

Burden’s memoir, “Strangers,” details the devastating end of her 20-year marriage to her husband as he up and leaves his family with no explanation or warning.

Page Six Hollywood previously reported there was a massive bidding war over the rights to the film between companies, including Netflix, A24 and Warner Bros.

Kirsten Dunst to star in “The Housemaid’s Secret.”

Freida McFadden fans rejoiced in March when it was revealed Kirsten Dunst would be joining Sydney Sweeney in the second “Housemaid” film, “The Housemaid’s Secret,” according to Deadline.

The sequel follows Sweeney’s character as she takes a job working for the mysterious Wendy Garrick (Dunst), who she’s never allowed to see.

Director Paul Feig and screenwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine will be back for the follow-up of the twisty thriller series.

It was revealed Maya Hawke would be joining the upcoming Netflix series “The God of The Woods” in March 2026.

The best-selling novel by Liz Moore was wildly popular when it came out in summer 2024, but gained even more traction in 2025 after Taylor Swift was listening to the audiobook on her Disney+ docuseries.

According to Netflix, Hawke is set to play inspector Judy Luptack in the multi-generational thriller book that follows two disappearances at the same summer camp 14 years apart.

She’s the first of many leading characters set for the series, which doesn’t have a release date yet.

“The Correspondent” has found its Sybil Van Antwerp.

It was announced in March 2026 that Jane Fonda would take on the leading role in Virginia Evans’ beloved “Correspondent.”

The book landed at Lionsgate after a seven-figure bidding war, according to Variety.

The epistolary novel follows a retired lawyer as she reflects on her life, love and past grief though correspondence with friends and family.

Daisy Edgar-Jones to star in “Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow.” REUTERS

Daisy Edgar-Jones has been tapped to play Sadie Green in Gabrielle Zevin’s popular book “Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow.”

The movie was picked up by Paramount and will be directed by Siân Heder, according to Variety.

The 2022 novel follows two childhood friends who reunite in college and create a wildly popular video game company together. The book, which spans decades, details the complexity of their relationship.

Edgar-Jones is also set to play Elinor Dashwood in a new adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Sense and Sensibility.”

Phoebe Dynevor to star in “Beach Read.”

Emily Henry fans got some good news in February when it was revealed Phoebe Dynevor would be taking on the role of January Andrews in “Beach Read.”

The film will be directed by Yulin Kuang for 20th Century Studios, according to THR.

“Beach Read” follows romance author January has she attempts to cure her writer’s block at a beach house following the death of her father when her college nemesis and literary fiction writer Augustus Everett rents the house next door.

Apple TV+ found their leading lady in Juno Temple.

It was announced in April 2025 that the “Ted Lasso” actress would be playing Lauren, a woman who comes home to her London flat one night to a husband she’s never met before. She soon learns her “husbands” change every time they enter her flat’s magical attic.

The book, written by Holly Gramazio, was a Read With Jenna book pick when it came out in April 2024.

A release date for the eight-episode series has not been announced.

One of the biggest “Good Morning America” book club picks of 2025 is getting a Hulu series.

It was announced in April 2025 that Lindsay Lohan was on board to star and executive produce Sophie Stava’s novel, Variety reported.

In “Count My Lies,” Sloane Caraway fibs her way into a new nanny job for the wealthy Violet (Lohan) and Jay Lockhart, but finds herself trapped in a world of manipulations and secrets.

Later in 2025, it was revealed Shailene Woodley was set to play Sloane and Kit Harington joined as Jay.

Elle and Dakota Fanning to star in “The Nightingale.” WireImage

Fans have been begging for Kristin Hannah’s mega popular book “The Nightingale” to be adapted for the big screen for years and they may finally be getting it.

Dakota and Elle Fanning have been attached to the film since 2019, but it was stalled out during the pandemic.

Now, however, filming is officially slated to begin in April 2026 with a 2027 release date.

The historical fiction book follows sisters Vianne and Isabelle in Nazi-occupied France during World War II.
