A Blackpool supporter has died after suffering a medical emergency during Saturday’s match against Peterborough, the League One club have announced.
Graham Sharman suffered a medical emergency in the second half of Blackpool’s 3-1 win at Bloomfield Road.
“Blackpool Football Club is deeply saddened to report the news of the passing of supporter Graham Sharman,” a club statement read.
“Graham suffered a medical emergency in the second half of Saturday’s match at Bloomfield Road. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Graham sadly passed away.
“The club have been in contact with his family and will remain in close communication to offer any support that is needed.
“The thoughts and condolences of everyone go out to Graham’s family and all of those connected at this time. Rest in peace, Graham.”
Blackpool are 18th in league on 51 points with three games to play, with Saturday’s result lifting them four points clear of the relegation zone and level with Peterborough.
Their next match is at Wycombe on 18 April before returning to Bloomfield Road for their final home game of the season against fellow relegation strugglers Leyton Orient.
