The Indianapolis Colts and star cornerback Kenny Moore II have agreed to try and find him a trade this offseason.
Moore, 30, has been with the Colts since 2017 after a brief spell with the New England Patriots but he started just seven of their 14 games last season.
The decision has put NFL teams who are scrambling to improve their defenses ahead of the new season on high alert.
If Moore leaves in the coming months, he would be the second team captain traded away by the Colts this offseason after Zaire Franklin went to the Green Bay Packers for defensive tackle Colby Wooden.
The Colts also traded their former No. 1 wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and a 2026 seventh-round draft pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.
Colts general manager Chris Ballard vowed he’d make the Colts ‘younger and faster’ on defense after they imploded last season. At 30, Moore II doesn’t fit that bill.

Indianapolis started last season 8-2 and were, for a period, the best team in the entire AFC. But they lost their final seven games of the season and missed out on the playoffs entirely.
In 14 games last season, Moore II managed only one interception during a game against the Tennessee Titans. He returned it for a 32-yard touchdown.
He also forced two fumbles, registered 1.5 sacks, made 55 tackles and chalked up three quarterback hits.
Moore is entering into the final year of his contract with the Colts, which is a three-year deal worth $30million that he signed in 2024.
At the time, he was the highest-paid nickel corner in NFL history.
