Channel 4 has announced that the upcoming episode of The Great Celebrity Bake Off featuring Scott Mills will no longer air.

The presenter was fired from the BBC in March over “allegations about his personal conduct”, with the Metropolitan Police later revealing that Mills had been investigated in 2016 over allegations of serious sexual offences involving a teenage boy under 16.

Mills was not charged at the time after the Crown Prosecution Service found that “the evidential threshold had not been met”, however the BBC said that it terminated his contract after receiving “new information” in the weeks before his sacking.

While Mills’ firing leaves a number of his upcoming BBC projects in limbo, The Great Celebrity Bake Off was also affected – with the presenter due to compete in an upcoming episode alongside other stars.

However, Channel 4 said in a statement on Wednesday (8 April) that the episode won’t be broadcast in light of Mills’ firing.

A spokesperson for Channel 4 told The Independent: “Having carefully considered the circumstances, we’ve taken the decision not to air the final episode of the 2026 series of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer, featuring Scott Mills.

“Acknowledging the seriousness of the accusations that have been made against Scott, we don’t believe it would be appropriate to air the episode at this time. An alternative episode of Celebrity GBBO will go out in its place.”

More to come.
