An unsuspecting Scott Mills told fans “see you tomorrow” as he signed off from his final Radio 2 show before being sacked by the BBC.
On Monday (30 March), the 53-year-old presenter was fired from his role following allegations about his personal conduct.
A BBC spokesperson said in a statement that “while we do not comment on matters relating to individuals, we can confirm Scott Mills is no longer contracted and has left the BBC”.
During his last appearance on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show on Tuesday (24 March), the presenter spoke to Vernon Kay about Paddy McGuinnes’ viral weight loss journey, before saying “see you tomorrow” as he handed over to Kay.
The Independent has contacted the BBC and Mills for comment.
