President Donald Trump showed off a rendering of the proposed new East Wing of the White House as he spoke to reporters aboard the Air Force One on Sunday (29 March).
Trump said the $400 million White House ballroom he demolished the East Wing to build was “ahead of schedule and under budget”.
Trump announced last summer he would be adding a ballroom to the White House, citing the need for space other than a tent on the lawn to entertain important guests.
He demolished the East Wing in October with little warning and underground construction to prepare the site has been underway since then.
