Tiger Woods was involved in yet another serious car accident Friday – five years on from the crash his daughter described as ‘one of the scariest moments’ of their lives.
The golf legend, 50, was arrested for DUI after he attempted to overtake a truck and trailer at high speed on a residential Jupiter Island road, before clipping the back of the vehicle and tipping his own SUV onto its side.
After clambering out of the passenger-side window, he refused to give a urine sample to cops and was arrested for DUI, property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test. He was booked in jail at around 3pm and had his latest mugshot taken before being released at around 11pm.
Woods has previous when it comes to car crashes. He was involved in a similar accident in 2021, which shattered his right leg after he was trapped under the vehicle in California. He needed multiple surgeries in order to recover from his injuries.
In light of his latest collision and arrest, comments from the 15-time major winner’s daughter, Sam, on the ‘ultimate low’ of that crash five years ago have resurfaced.

‘About a year ago, you were stuck in your hospital bed at one of your ultimate lows at one of the scariest moments of your life and ours,’ Sam Woods, who was just 14 at the time, said during her dad’s 2022 World Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
‘We didn’t know if you’d come home with two legs or not. Now, not only are you being inducted in the Hall of Fame, but you’re standing here, on your own two feet.’
Sam, who is now 18 years old, went on to express her admiration for what her legendary father achieved in the sport.
‘This is why you deserve this, because you’re a fighter,’ she continued in 2022. ‘You’ve defied the odds every time. Being the first Black and Asian golfer to win a Major, being able to win your fifth Masters after multiple back surgeries, and being able to walk just a few months after your crash.’
Woods will now need to bounce back once again following his latest accident in Jupiter on Friday.
Cops released his remarkable mugshot to the public shortly after 10pm, with his eyes puffy and bloodshot in the image. An hour later, he was bonded out and driven away from the jail, as fans and reporters swarmed the car for a glimpse of him.
In photos taken by a Daily Mail photographer, he can be seen looking stony-faced with his lips pursed, before momentarily glancing out of the passenger side window at the gathered masses before disappearing into the night.

At the scene of the accident, Woods passed a breathalyzer test after showing ‘triple zeros’, but then refused to give a urine sample twice, once on the roadside and then again at the jail.
‘He is cooperative, but he was not trying to incriminate himself, so he was careful in what he said and didn’t say,’ Sheriff Budensiek explained. ‘When it came time again for the test, the urine test at the jail, he stopped that.
‘On scene, we had [Drug Recognition] experts evaluating him and they believed from on scene that he was not impaired with alcohol, but they believe it was some type of medication or drug. And again, at the jail he cooperated with the breathalyzer, and then the urine [test] he wanted no part in.
‘He has a right to refuse that test. There is a statute that he will be charged with for refusing to take that test, but we will never get definitive results as to what he was impaired on at the time of the crash.’
