Liverpool will face a tough battle to land Bayern Munich star Michael Olise this summer, with the German heavyweights insisting their star man is not for sale.

The Reds are on the hunt for a replacement for Mohamed Salah after the Anfield legend announced he will be leaving the club at the end of the season, and Daily Mail Sport’s Lewis Steele has revealed that Olise is on their radar.

Reports in Germany suggest Liverpool are willing to put £173million on the table to sign the former Crystal Palace star, with Spanish side Real Madrid ready to bid £143m to bolster their attack. Bayern, though, insist their star isn’t going anywhere.

‘We’re not even considering that,’ Bayern sporting director Max Eberl told German publication BILD. ‘He’s an FC Bayern player and has all the opportunities here that top players could wish for.’

CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, meanwhile, added: ‘No matter which club tries to lure him away, anyone who plays for FC Bayern knows what they have at FC Bayern.’

Olise’s contract at the club runs for another three years, so it appears extremely unlikely that any of Europe’s top clubs will be able to prise him away.

Eberl added that there is no release clause in the deal, with the 24-year-old deemed one of the most valuable players in world football having hit new heights after joining from Palace at the start of last season.

Olise is set to face off against Madrid in the Champions League with his side, when the two sides do battle in the quarter-finals of Europe’s premier competition.

The first leg is set for April 7 at the Bernabeu, before the return leg eight days later in Munich.

Then, he will take on international team-mate Kylian Mbappe, with France fans hoping the duo will be able to deliver another World Cup trophy this summer. It seems unlikely, though, that they will be teaming up at club level any time soon.

Olise is thought to be happy in Germany, having joined Bayern for £52m in the summer of 2024.

This season, he has picked up 16 goals and 27 assists in 39 games for his club, having become a vital player alongside the likes of Harry Kane and Co.

Liverpool will definitely go into the market to replace Salah, who announced on Tuesday that his time at Anfield is coming to an end after nine years.
