Mae Great British Energy – Nuclear (GBE-N) a Chyngor Sir Ynys Môn wedi llofnodi Cytundeb Cydweithio heddiw sy’n nodi sut y bydd y ddau sefydliad yn gweithio gyda’i gilydd i gefnogi cyflawni Adweithyddion Modiwlaidd Bach cyntaf y DU yn Wylfa.
Bydd y cytundeb yn sicrhau partneriaeth dryloyw, effeithlon, barchus a chadarnhaol, gyda’r nod o sicrhau canlyniadau cadarnhaol i gymunedau’r Ynys, gan gefnogi llesiant economaidd, cymdeithasol, amgylcheddol a diwylliannol.

Bydd y ddau sefydliad yn gweithredu’n dryloyw, yn cyflawni cyfrifoldebau a gytunwyd, ac yn cynnal trefniadau llywodraethu a llwybrau adrodd clir ar gyfer gweithgareddau cydweithredol.

Bydd cyfathrebu’n agored, yn amserol ac yn rhagweithiol. Mae’r ddau bartner yn ymrwymo i negeseuon cydlynol, prosesau briffio ar y cyd, ac atgyfeirio’n gynnar unrhyw faterion posibl.

“Rydw i’n hynod o falch o allu arwyddo’r cytundeb hwn ar ran GBE-N heddiw. Yn y misoedd ers y cyhoeddwyd Wylfa fel ein prif safle datblygu rydw i wedi gweld â’m llygaid fy hun yr angerdd sy’n bodoli ar gyfer sicrhau’r buddion gorau ar gyfer pobl Môn gan ein prosiect. Croesawodd Arweinydd y Cyngor a’r deilydd portffolio Datblygu Economaidd Ynys Môn, y Cynghorydd Gary Pritchard, y cytundeb gan ddweud
“Mae cytundeb heddiw yn ffurfioli ein hymrwymiad i gydweithio’n agos â GBE-N wrth iddynt ymchwilio i’r ddarpariaeth o SMRs yn Wylfa. Mae ein blaenoriaeth yn glir – sicrhau’r canlyniadau gorau posibl ar gyfer pobl Ynys Môn, tra’n sicrhau bod unrhyw risgiau’n cael eu rheoli’n iawn a bod llais yr Ynys yn cael ei chlywed drwy gydol y broses ddatblygu.”

Collaboration Agreement is another step forward for Wylfa
Great British Energy – Nuclear (GBE-N) and Isle of Anglesey County Council (IACC) have today signed a Collaboration Agreement which sets out how the two organisations will work together to support delivery of the UK’s first Small Modular Reactors at Wylfa.
The agreement will ensure a transparent, efficient, respectful, and positive partnership, aimed at delivering positive outcomes for the Island’s community while supporting economic, social, environmental and cultural wellbeing.
The General Principles for Collaboration are
- Commitment and Accountability
Both organisations will act transparently, fulfil agreed responsibilities, and maintain clear governance and reporting routes for collaborative activities
Communication will be open, timely, and proactive. Both partners commit to coordinated messaging, shared briefing processes, and early escalation of potential issues
We will uphold the highest standards of equality, ensuring accessible engagement, eliminating discrimination, and supporting those facing disadvantage
- Prevention and Safeguarding
Safeguarding is a shared responsibility. All joint work will be designed and delivered in a way that protects children, adults, and vulnerable individuals
Both organisations will consider the longterm economic, social, environmental and cultural well-being of decisions
Both organisations will seek innovative, data informed approaches and embrace digital tools where appropriate to improve outcomes and engagement

“The potential economic, social, cultural and environmental opportunities associated with the proposed SMR programme are significant. We’re determined to make sure Anglesey is fully equipped to take advantage of these opportunities – whether in new jobs, skills pathways, local supply chain growth, improved infrastructure, or longterm community investment.”
Anglesey Council Leader and Economic Development portfolio holder, Cllr Gary Pritchard, welcomed the agreement, saying
“Today’s agreement formalises our commitment to work closely with GBE-N as they explore the delivery of SMRs at Wylfa. Our priority is clear – to secure the best possible outcomes for the people of Anglesey, while ensuring any risks are properly managed and the Island’s voice is heard throughout the development process.
“We look forward to continuing this constructive partnership and to ensuring that the project brings lasting, positive benefits to Anglesey and its communities.”
