An American tennis star accused a French player of trying to flirt with her, only for him to issue a furious denial and attack the cable network that aired her comments.
‘Tennis Channel how can you let someone say BS like this on tv,’ France’s Corentin Moutet asked on X after the network interviewed Danielle Collins at the Miami Open.
The segment began with Tennis Channel’s Steve Weissman describing a recent interaction between Moutet and Collins at a practice court.
‘He was shouting at you, he was cat calling you,’ Weissman told Collins, who picked up the story from there.
‘I basically said to him,’ she began, ‘”If you’re going to be flirting with me like that, you’re going to have to get a bigger serve.”
‘Some people think it comes down to height, some people think it comes down to personality, but really what it comes down to is big forehands and big serves,’ she added, tilting her head towards her interviewer.

Collins then went on to claim that Moutet unfollowed her on social media after it was revealed in a dating profile that she isn’t interested in ‘short kings.’ Moutet, who is scheduled to face world No. 2 Jannik Sinner in the Round of 32, is listed at 5ft11.
‘You have to understand that I’m 5-10, and for me, right, it’s fair,’ Collins said. ‘It’s just a preference. Nothing against the short kings. But he was upset about that and messaged me and then unfollowed me. He slid back into the DMs last night asking me if I saw his match and all the big serves that he was hitting.’
Raising her eyebrows, Collins said Moutet does not ‘have a chance yet.’
But the playful flirting came to an abrupt end online, where Moutet was no longer in a joking mood.
‘How can I unfollow you when I never followed you?’ Moutet asked on X.
Moutet went on to claim in his post that Collins ‘followed me’ and asked to play mixed doubles together.

‘I’ve never even followed you,’ he added. ‘You ready to say anything so people talks about you. You should learn how to love yourself so you won’t have to do stupid things for people loves.’
Before signing off, Moutet offered one sarcastic comment for the network: ‘Tennis Channel, good sport journalist.’
Collins is currently sidelined after a back injury. In November, she revealed her breakup with boyfriend Bryan Kipp, a vice president of a biotech firm, by posting a dating profile online.
‘Just wanting to raise my chickens, do home projects, make freshly baked sourdough, be a stay at home dog mom, and hopefully pop out some babies soon,’ she wrote online, according to Sportbible.com. ‘If you’re going to lie about your height just leave me the f*** alone. This is a no short kings zone.’
