Khadija Shaw scored the fastest hat-trick in Women’s Super League history as leaders Manchester City beat Tottenham 5-2 at the Joie Stadium.

The Jamaica international completed the feat inside 13 first-half minutes to give the hosts a commanding lead after Olivia Holdt cancelled out Shaw’s opener.

Kerolin added another and an own goal from Amanda Nilden extended City’s lead before the break, with Bethany England’s late consolation a reward for Spurs’ improved second-half performance.

Melvine Malard’s stoppage-time header moved Manchester United into second as they survived late drama against Everton to win 2-1.

Inma Gabarro appeared to serve a blow to United’s top-three hopes when she headed home a 90th-minute equaliser for in-form Everton following Elisabeth Terland’s opener.

But Malard nodded in from a corner in the fourth minute of stoppage time to move United back above Chelsea.

Chelsea’s hopes of qualifying for the Women’s Champions League were dealt a blow as they could only draw 1-1 with London City Lionesses.

Sonia Bompastor’s side looked set to hold onto the lead given to them midway through the first half by Johanna Rytting Kaneryd but Isobel Goodwin netted a deserved equaliser eight minutes from time, meaning Chelsea slipped to third, nine points adrift of leaders Manchester City.

Arsenal secured a fourth successive WSL victory with an emphatic 5-0 win over relegation-threatened West Ham.

Stina Blackstenius put Arsenal ahead early on and could have had more but for Kinga Szemik making a string of first-half saves.

But there was nothing she could do after the break as Arsenal ran in four more goals courtesy of Alessia Russo, Chloe Kelly’s double and Beth Mead’s late strike.

The Gunners cut the gap to the top three Champions League places to just two points in the process.
