Robert Mueller, the former FBI director and special counsel who drew President Donald Trump’s ire after investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election, died at 81 years old.
Mueller, a lawyer and veteran of the Vietnam War, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2021, his family announced last year.
The family did not reveal how Mueller died.
Trump responded to Mueller’s death on Truth Social, saying, “Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people.”
