Dave Portnoy has been savaged by New York governor Kathy Hochul over his ex-girlfriend’s alleged affair with a cycling instructor in a bizarre exchange online.
Hochul brought up Portnoy’s embarrassing 2017 scandal after the Barstool Sports chief criticized her desperate attempts to convince the fleeing elite to return to the Big Apple.
He posted on X: ‘The unbelievable arrogance and hypocrisy of begging millionaires to return to New York while the new Mayor [Zohran Mamdani] simultaneously says he despises millionaires and supports communism. I wonder why people are flocking to Florida?’
In response, Hochul’s press office made a brutal reference to SoulCycle – nine years after Portnoy accused then-girlfriend Jordyn Hamilton of cheating on him with an instructor at the fitness company.
‘Is this why you’re so mad,’ the Democratic governor’s press office wrote on the platform, along with a screenshot that shows New York has the highest number of SoulCycle locations.
Hochul’s account also poked fun at Portnoy by inviting him to a SoulCycle class in the city on Friday.

The media mogul was left stunned by her comeback, taking to X again himself to fire shots at Hochul.
‘I’m so confused. Did Gov Hochul really just make fun of me for getting cucked 10 years ago? I did by the way. Even sold tshirts about it,’ Portnoy posted.
He then alleged: ‘Meanwhile she’s begging millionaires like me to come back to New York to pay for communism, hotels for illegals and pedicures for [Mamdani’s] terrorist loving wife’s photo shoots. Be less serious state of NY’.
Portnoy cashed in on his heartbreak at the time, selling t-shirts with the word ‘CuckCycle’ emblazoned across it.
His Barstool employees also hounded SoulCycle’s social media to the extent that the organization sent a message to its trainers telling them to call the police if anyone appeared at any of their studios and made them feel threatened.
That message made its way back to a merciless Portnoy, who shared it on X and wrote: ‘Best way to avoid calling 911? Don’t have your instructors f*** the girlfriend of head of major media company.’
Hamilton never responded to Portnoy’s claims but, according to the ‘How the Jester Became King’ book about his life, she reached out with a message of support for her ex when he was embroiled by sexual misconduct allegations four years later.

The social-media personality and entrepreneur was accused of sexual misconduct in a Business Insider expose, alleging he had violent and aggressive sexual encounters with women and that he filmed them without their consent.
However, he vehemently denied the claims and insisted the article was a ‘hit piece’ that had been eight months in the works, while even going as far as to say the article insinuated he was a rapist.
Hochul’s dig at Portnoy did not go down well on social media, with one user commenting: ‘Yeah keep insulting all business owners lol that’ll really make them wanna come back and employ hundreds of people’.
Another posted: ‘Keep trolling Dave. That will really show those millionaires and billionaires that NY is a warm inviting state to live in!’
While a third put: ‘I actually might have to leave NY after this cringe tweet. My God.’
