John Terry suffered a chaotic fall down the ski slopes after a heavy day of drinking in France.

Terry, 45, appeared to be enjoying some time away from his part-time role as a coach and mentor within Chelsea’s academy in the luxury ski resort of Courchevel in the French Alps.

The legendary Blues defender was documenting much of his day on Monday on his Instagram story which included a video of him bizarrely skiing down a slope while holding an England flag in his left hand.

He then indulged in the tradition of Apres-ski as Terry shared one snap of him drinking an alcoholic beverage while smiling in the sun and still holding the flag.

But it was his third story that attracted the most attention.

In a clip titled: ‘Not the best idea to drink all day then smash three tequilas before skiing down. Watch til the end,’ Terry, who also included an England flag in the post, was skiing down another slope.

Terry seemed to be quite drunk given the text accompanying the video and could be seen moving across the slope while still holding the aforementioned England flag.

To his credit, Terry was navigating the mountain well and even began skiing backwards at one point.

However, disaster struck right at the end when he went tumbling, although he didn’t seem too unhappy as he was left in hysterics while lying on the floor.

Meanwhile, Terry has increasingly been in the news recently for his various opinions and takes on footballing matters.

This included him comparing Arsenal wonderkid Max Dowman to Lionel Messi after the 16-year-old became the Premier League’s youngest ever goalscorer when he netted against Everton at the weekend.

‘Max Dowman what a player by the way,’ Terry began on his TikTok page. ’16 years of age, almost 17, absolutely incredible.

‘I watched him play against Chelsea about a year ago, and I’ve not seen anybody glide past people like this man does other than Messi.

‘That’s a big, big comparison but this guy is a proper talent and will play a big part in Arsenal’s future and also England as well. But a super, super talent – and a big win for Arsenal.’

Terry was bizarrely holding an England flag throughout the day, before he shared a video titled: 'Not the best idea to drink all day then smash three tequilas before skiing down'

Meanwhile, last month Terry, who works with Chelsea’s Under 18 and Under 21 squads, expressed his frustration that he had been overlooked by the club to be their caretaker boss following the sacking of Enzo Maresca in January.

Full-time Under 21s coach Calum McFarlane was instead chosen before Liam Rosenior took permanent charge.

‘Not annoyed, probably more frustrated,’ he said. ‘Because I was certainly part of that Under 21s group that went over.

‘So even if I didn’t take the team… Calum took the team, did really well, got a result out of the game (in a 1-1 draw at Man City). I feel like I should have been part of that.

‘Now listen, people have got to make decisions. I love it when people make decisions and they go “yes” or “no”.

‘Clearly the ownership, or whoever made those decisions – the sporting directors – have gone “no” not to include me, for whatever reason. I don’t know why.’
