Over awards weekend, power agency WME hosted a nominees toast in the Chateau Marmont’s penthouse for clients including “Sinners” star Michael B. Jordan and director Ryan Coogler, as well as “One Battle After Another” star Teyana Taylor, “Marty Supreme” director Josh Safdie and “The Secret Agent” star Wagner Moura, among others.
The penthouse’s hallway was lined with portraits of the nominees by artist Tim Nguyen, and WME’s Elyse Scherz welcomed the crowd followed by a rousing speech by the agency’s co-chairman Richard Weitz in front of heavy hitting execs including Disney’s Dana Walden, Netflix’s Bela Bajaria and NBCUniversal’s Donna Langley, as well as WME co-chair Christian Muirhead.
The party then moved downstairs to the garden — where stars mixing included Tom Holland, Javier Bardem, Chris Rock, Seth MacFarlane, Rachel Sennott, Kristen Stewart, Tobey Maguire, Maude Apatow and Barry Keoghan — as well as NFL player Joe Burrow and Olympians Evan Bates and Madison Chock who wore their medals for the occasion.
Taylor had arrived straight from an earlier Warner Bros. pre-party, and rival agency CAA held a pre-Oscars fete on Thursday at private club Living Room, where A-list guests included Brad Pitt, Steven Spielberg, Paul Thomas Anderson and Mick Jagger.
Also at the CAA bash: Andy Cohen, Jon Hamm, Gracie Abrams and dad J.J. Abrams, Connor Storrie, Sacha Baron Cohen, Anya Taylor-Joy, director Paul Feig and more.
Hollywood’s watering hole, San Vicente Bungalows, also drew stars as well as A-list directors and producers leading up to the Oscars, we hear, including Al Pacino, Jerry Bruckheimer, Ridley Scott, Sam Levinson, Jennifer Anniston, Sarah Paulson, John Hamm and Usher.
But a spy also told Page Six of a mysterious guest, “The talk however was who required the secret service security detail stationed out front?”
Taylor had also been spotted at an Oscars dinner earlier in the week at San Vicente’s Santa Monica outpost with Elle Fanning, Jacob Elordi, Delroy Lindo, Stellan Skarsgård and Benicio del Toro.
