Lessons in Lifestyle

While math lovers come together every year on March 14 to celebrate Pi Day, it can also be an opportunity for others to reap the benefits of special restaurant promotions.

Representing the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, pi is approximately equal to 3.14159 — but its digits go on forever. In school, you might have used it to calculate the area of a circle or the volume of a cylinder. But the applications of pi are endless and part of every corner of our world.

The holiday was created in 1988 by Larry Shaw, a physicist at the Exploratorium science museum in San Francisco, to celebrate math.

Due to the number’s association with a circle, restaurants have been able to get creative through offering promotions on their circle-shaped items, whether it be pizza, pie or cookies.

From 7-Eleven to Burger King, here are all the best food deals for Pi Day.

Many restaurant chains have offered deals and promotions for the holiday, including Round Table Pizza and Polly’s Pies

7-Eleven

The convenience store is going all-in on Saturday, as 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards members can purchase a one-topping pizza for $3.14 using the 7Now delivery app or in-person at a Speedy Café location.

Select 7-Eleven locations are also offering a $3.14 quesadilla or a 31.4-cent cinnamon sugar fried pie in either the apple or cherry flavor.

Burger King

Although the fast food chain may be well-known for its savory options, Burger King is offering either a Hershey’s Sundae Pie or a Cinnamon Apple Pie to customers who spend at least $3.14 on Pi Day.

Blaze Pizza

To celebrate Pi Day, the pizza chain is offering a buy-one-get-one deal on its 11-inch pizzas for $3.14 at participating locations across North America.

DoorDash

The delivery platform has partnered with several restaurants, including Pizza Hut and Sbarro.

Those ordering from Pizza Hut can receive one medium or large “Create Your Own” pizza and receive another free when ordering through DoorDash, and Sbarro is offering $4 off orders of $20 or more through April 6.

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse

The restaurant chain is celebrating Pi Day by offering its signature Pizookie dessert for $3.14 with the purchase of a large or shareable pizza for those dining in the restaurant.

Polly’s Pies

The California pie chain is honoring its signature dessert by giving dine-in customers a free slice of pie with the purchase of any entree. Royalty members can receive the free slice with no additional cost.

Mountain Mike’s

Rewards members can purchase any medium pizza and add a second one-topping medium pizza for $3.14 on Pi Day when using the promotional code PIDAY.

Round Table Pizza

The pizza chain is celebrating Pi Day by offering its Royal Rewards members a one‑topping personal pizza for $3.14 with the purchase of a large or extra‑large pizza.
