MLB Network and TNT Sports sideline reporter Lauren Shehadi has landed a highly-coveted Netflix role ahead of the 2026 Major League Baseball season, according to reports.
The streaming giant is preparing to continue its foray into live sports coverage, and will this season air the Yankees on Opening Night, the Home Run Derby and the Field of Dreams Game.
Netflix has spent the past few months building its on-air roster ahead of the coverage, and Front Office Sports reports that Shehadi has now been chosen as the sideline reporter.
She currently works as an anchor and host for MLB Network and TNT Sports, and it is believed that Netflix will be an additional role rather than a replacement, making her one of the busiest on-air sports talents.
Netflix’s MLB coverage will begin in San Francisco when the Giants host the Yankees on March 25 in a standalone game.
It is then understood that Shehadi will return to her usual role on MLB Network’s MLB Central alongside Mark DeRosa and Robert Flores, which was nominated for an Emmy last year.

Later this month, she will also be a part of TNT Sports’ March Madness coverage, working the regional finals with the likes of Kevin Harlan, Stan van Gundy and Robbie Hummel.
Elle Duncan was the first high-profile sportscaster to jump ship to Netflix, leaving ESPN late last year to become the overall host of sports coverage.
She hosted her first live event when Alex Honnold free-climbed Taipei 101 in January, with the broadcast widely hailed as a success for the streaming giant.
Netflix also has the rights to WWE’s Monday Night Raw, NFL Christmas games, and will exclusively show the 2027 Women’s World Cup in the United States.
